Del Carmen is a picturesque 5thclass coastal municipality on the western side of Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte, covering approximately 151.7 km² and home to about 20,127 people as of the 2020 census. Known historically as Numancia, and previously Caolo or Caob, it was renamed Del Carmen in June 1966 after its patroness, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
